NYSTES Assists Former Trooper Scott Rankus
Recently, The New York State Troopers Emerald Society presented retired Trooper Scott M. Rankus with an honorary membership and a check for $350.00. Scott, who recently retired from the State Police, is confined to a wheel chair, due to a motor vehicle accident which left him paralyzed. Troopers have been helping Scott and his family since the accident with interior and exterior renovations at his home. During a recent conversation between NYSTES Board President Edward Gillespie (Trooper, Troop L) and NYSTES Troop A Delegate Michael Connors (Trooper, Troop A), it was revealed that Scott could use an additional ramp to exit and enter a newly built deck, which was recently constructed thanks in part to Troopers and the NYSTPBA. During a recent board meeting, the Executive Officers of NYSTES unanimously agreed to cover the cost of the ramp, which will allow Scott to enjoy the sunshine throughout the summer.
